Website terms
Terms of Use
These terms explain how the Event Carbon website, enquiry information and service descriptions should be understood.
Any paid work is governed by the relevant proposal, proposal conditions and any agreed terms of engagement.
Website information
Website information is provided for general guidance only and may be updated as Event Carbon’s methodology, services and operating regions develop.
Indicative estimates
Any estimate generated through the website or before a full data review is indicative only.
Final CO₂e values may change once event scope, activity data, venue information, travel, catering, accommodation, supplier information and any assumptions are reviewed.
Enquiries and proposals
Submitting an enquiry does not create a paid engagement.
Any package recommendation, price, timescale, carbon route, credit route or scope of work will be confirmed separately in writing before work begins.
Event data and assumptions
Carbon assessments depend on the information provided by the client, venue, suppliers, planners and other relevant parties.
Where information is missing, delayed, inconsistent or not sufficient for the selected assessment level, Event Carbon may use documented assumptions or estimation methods. This may affect the level of detail, confidence and wording that can be supported.
Carbon statements and claims
Any carbon statement, certificate wording or public communication must reflect the agreed event scope, available data, recorded assumptions and carbon credit evidence where included.
Event Carbon does not support vague, unsupported or overstated carbon claims.
Carbon credits
Where carbon credits are included, availability, project suitability, pricing, procurement route and retirement evidence may vary.
Carbon credits are charged separately at cost unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Intellectual property
All website content, copy, design, brand assets, certificates, templates, reports, methodology materials and other Event Carbon materials remain the intellectual property of Event Carbon unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Clients may use agreed final outputs for the purpose set out in the proposal, but may not copy, adapt, resell or reuse Event Carbon templates, methodology materials or website content without written permission.
No legal or financial advice
Event Carbon does not provide legal, financial, tax or investment advice.
Clients are responsible for deciding whether any carbon statement, communication or credit purchase is appropriate for their own organisation, event, audience or reporting context.
Proposal conditions
Website terms apply to use of the Event Carbon website, enquiry information and general service descriptions.
Paid work is governed by the agreed proposal, proposal conditions and any agreed terms of engagement.
The proposal will set out the agreed scope, package level, outputs, timescale, price, data requirements, assumptions approach and any carbon credit route where selected.
Where there is any difference between general website wording and the agreed proposal, the agreed proposal and proposal conditions take priority for that engagement.
Governing law
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, website use and Event Carbon proposals issued by the Australian business are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
